RESUMO: Gustavo Gutiérrez é uma das principais referências da teologia da libertação latino-americana. Seu livro Teologia da Libertação: perspectivas, publicado em 1971, além de ser um dos principais veículos de difusão dessa teologia, adquiriu um valor simbólico, dando nome a esse movimento teológico e se tornando como que seu marco teórico inicial. Celebrando 50 anos de publicação dessa obra, queremos retomar sua problemática teológica fundamental que tem a ver com a relação entre “libertação e salvação” e que está desenvolvida de modo mais sistemático e elaborado no capítulo 9. Ele sintetiza em seu título o núcleo da problemática de sua teologia e procura “esboçar” ou “indicar as linhas básicas da obra por empreender”. Começaremos fazendo um resumo do capítulo, apresentando sua problemática e seu desenvolvimento teológico. Em seguida, faremos algumas considerações de ordem histórico-teológica sobre essa problemática e seu desenvolvimento teológico. E concluiremos destacando a pertinência, a atualidade e o desafio de prosseguir com essa obra inacabada.
ABSTRACT: Gustavo Gutiérrez is one of the main references of the Latin American liberation theology. His book “Liberation Theology – Perspectives”, published in 1971, as well as being one of the main vehicles to disseminate this theology, acquired a symbolic value, giving name to this theological movement and becoming its initial theoretical framework. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this publication, we want to resume its fundamental theological problematics about the relation between “liberation and salvation”. This topic is more systematically and elaborately developed in chapter 9 which synthesizes the core of the problem of his theology in its title and tries to “sketch” or “suggest the basic lines of the work to be undertaken”. We will start by summarizing the chapter, presenting its problematics and theological development. Then, we will make some historical-theological considerations about these problematics and their theological development. Finally, we will conclude by emphasizing the pertinence, the actualities, and the challenge of continuing this unfinished work.
