A cidade de Brochier, surgida a partir da colonização
particular no Rio Grande do Sul, apresenta aspectos
singulares, marcados pela presença francesa e o posterior
estabelecimento de alemães e, principalmente, teutobrasileiros,
oriundos de outras colônias, conferindo a
hegemonia cultural à etnia alemã, na virada para o século
XX. Contudo, as transformações advindas de um contexto
mais amplo, inclusive aquelas oriundas do processo de
globalização, tiveram reflexos em Brochier, acarretando
na descaracterização identitária. Assim, objetiva-se lançar
um novo olhar sobre o tema, despertando memórias
silenciadas, no esquecimento. Isto justifica a ausência de
polÃticas efetivas, de preservação do patrimônio históricocultural
da cidade, impedindo-se que os vestÃgios do
passado venham a colaborar na compreensão mais clara
deste, sujeitando estes restos à destruição ou
descaracterização.
The city of Brochier, which appeared through the
colonization of Rio Grande do Sul, presents unique
aspects, marked for the French presence and the posterior
settlement of the Germans and, mainly, teuto-Brazilians,
who came from other colonies, giving cultural hegemony
to the German ethny, on the turn of 20th century.
Nevertheless, the changings coming from a wider context,
including those resulting from the globalization process,
reflected in Brochier, causing identity descaracterization.
Therefore, our goal is to launch a new look over the theme
awaking silenced and forgotten memories. This fact
justifies the absence of effective policies, of preservation
of the city historical and cultural patrimony, preventing
these past vestiges from helping to have a clearer
understanding of the facts, submitting such traces to
destruction or descaractization.
