CARACTERIZAÇÃO DO GERENCIAL DO TERMINAL INTERMODAL DE TATUÍ-SP

O Brasil é o 2º maior produtor de soja e o 1º produtor de milho do mundo. Entre os
anos de 2007/2008 totalizou 131,7 milhões de toneladas de grãos (R$611,8 bilhões,
correspondente a 23% do PIB Nacional) um recorde para o País. A eficiência
logística é mensurada pela disponibilidade dos produtos e serviços ao longo da
cadeia. Uma infra-estrutura inapropriada para a movimentação de uma produção
pode comprometer a disponibilidade de produtos, além de afetar os custos logísticos
que estão imersos no conceito de custo total. Este trabalho se propõe a averiguar a
eficiência operacional do terminal intermodal de Tatuí SP, CEAGESP. Para tanto
foram coletados dados quantitativos e qualitativos por meio de entrevista com
questionário semiestruturado junto ao gerente do terminal. O terminal foi
caracterizado e analisado segundo uma série de variáveis, medidas de inputs e
outputs, analisadas sob a ótica tradicional de produtividade e mercadológica. Os
resultados indicam que o terminal tem como principal função a armazenagem de
grãos para pequenos produtores. A ineficiência está ligada a falta de estrutura dos
modais e não ao terminal em si.

Brazil is the second largest soybean producer and a producer of corn in the world.
Between the years 2007/2008 totaled 131.7 million tons of grain (U.S. $ 611.8 billion,
representing 23% of national GDP) a record for the country logistics efficiency is
measured by the availability of products and services throughout chain. An
inadequate infrastructure for the movement of a production may compromise the
availability of products, besides affecting the logistics costs that are immersed in the
concept of total cost. This study aims to assess the operational efficiency of
intermodal terminal Tatuí SP, CEAGESP. Therefore, we collected quantitative and
qualitative data through semi-structured questionnaire interview with the manager of
the terminal. The terminal was characterized and analyzed by a series of variables,
measures of inputs and outputs, analyzed under the traditional approach of
productivity and marketing. The results indicate that the terminal has the main
function of grain storage for small farmers. The inefficiency is linked to lack of
structure of the modes and not the terminal itself.
