A educação e as comemorações cÃvicas foram temas bastante
discutidos em âmbito nacional. Tais temas não deixaram de fazer parte
das páginas do jornal O Rebate que fazia oposição ao Partido Republicano
Rio-Grandense (PRR). O presente trabalho dedica-se à análise das notÃcias
sobre festas cÃvicas e educação cÃvica, publicadas no referido jornal, em
1914 e 1915, primeiros anos de funcionamento desse órgão de imprensa.
Embora tal periódico constasse como “orgam independenteâ€, a filiação
partidária de seu editor norteou as crÃticas e os temas tratados nas páginas
dessa publicação. Além disso, foram utilizados os Relatórios Intendenciais
de 1914 e 1915, para que fosse realizada uma comparação entre os discursos
antagônicos presentes na vida polÃtica de Pelotas, tendo em vista que o
então intendente, Cypriano Corrêa Barcellos, estava vinculado ao PRR.
Para a realização deste trabalho, fez uma revisão bibliográfica do tema
educação cÃvica no Brasil, além de buscar subsÃdios para a análise de
impressos.
The education and the civic celebrations were much discussed
topics nationwide. Such themes have left to be part of the newspaper O
Rebate that opposed the Republican Riograndense Party (PRR). This
work is dedicated to the analysis of stories about civic education and civic
events, published in the Journal, between 1914 and 1915, the first
years of this organ of the press functioning. Although this newspaper
introduce itself as “independent organâ€, the party affiliation of its editor
are guided the critical topics addressed in the pages of this publication.
Furthermore, we used the Intendentials Reports of 1914 and 1915, that was performed to compare the antagonistic discourses present in the
political life of Pelotas, in order that the then mayor, Cypriano Corrêa
Barcellos, was linked to the PRR. For this work there was a review of the
topic of civic education in Brazil, and seek grants for the analysis of the
newspaper.
