Neste trabalho foram investigadas as variações do número de omatÃdeo e sua relação com medidas biométricas, encontradas em uma amostra de 124 indivÃduos de Balloniscus sellowii, espécie de isópodo terrestre com ampla distribuição geográfica para o sul do Brasil. As alterações encontradas no número de omatÃdeos por olho (direito e esquerdo) variam de (20-20) a (30-30) por olho e correlacionam-se melhor com a medida da largura do cefalotórax.
In this work there were investigated the omatidea number variation and its relationship with biometric measures, found in 124 individuals of Balloniscus sellowii a terrestrial isopoda with large geographic distribution to the southern Brazil. The alterations found in numbers of omatidea vary from (20-20) to (30-30) per eye and correlated better with the measure of cephalothorax width.
