Este trabalho tem como objetivo uma aplicação da Curva de Phillips para dados da Grande Belo Horizonte, MG. Foi feita uma retrospectiva teórica da evolução do conceito iniciando com a primeira aplicação realizada por A. W. Phillips, com dados para a economia inglesa. Em seguida foram identificadas algumas aplicações recentes em paÃses do mundo, entre eles o Brasil. Foram estimadas três equações econométricas, utilizando dados referentes a região metropolitana da grande Belo Horizonte, por intermédio do Software Eview 3.1. Como base de cálculo foi utilizado o IPCA (Ãndice de Preço ao Consumidor Ampliado), calculado pelo IPAD - Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas, Administrativas e Contábeis e as Taxas de Desemprego Aberto, Desemprego Oculto e Desemprego Total publicadas pela Fundação João Pinheiro/DIEESE. O resultado foi significativo para a relação entre inflação e desemprego total ao nÃvel 10,5%.
This work has as aim an application o Phillips' Curve to basis of Belo Horizonte region, MG. It was done a theoric retrospective of evolution of concept starting with the first appliance realized by A. W. Phillips, with basis to the English economy. After that, it was identified some recent appliances, in some countries in the world, including Brazil. It was considered three econometrical equations using basis relative to Belo Horizonte metropolitan region, through the Software Eview 3.1. As calculus base it was used the IPCA (Price Index to the Consumer Amplified), calculated by IPAD (Economic Administrative and Accounting Research Institute) and the Open Unemployment Taxes, Unknown Unemployment and Total Unemployment, published by João Pinheiro Foundation/DIEESE. The result was expressive to the relation between inflation and total unemployment to level 10,5%.
