The present work deals with the anatomical description of the woods of Prosopis algarobilla Gris. (inhanduvá) and Prosopis nigra (Gray) Hieron. (algarrobo). The anatomical structure of these species is compared with observations in the literature. The main differential characteristics observed are fiber fraction, axial parenchyma fraction and ray width in number of cells.
