O crescimento populacional e o processo de urbanização desordenado, tem provocado o surgimento de diversos impactos ambientais adversos, como o consequente aumento na geração de esgotos. O objetivo deste trabalho consistiu-se em diagnosticar os impactos ambientais causados pelo lançamento dos esgotos no rio Piancó em Pombal-PB. O período de realização da pesquisa ocorreu entre maio de 2017 à agosto de 2017, utilizando-se do embasamento da pesquisa bibliográfica, realizada a partir do levantamento de referências teóricas já publicadas por meios escritos e eletrônicos, e pela pesquisa em campo, sendo realizado a exploração e a coleta de dados através do registro fotográfico e, pelo uso do software de georrefereciamento Qgis 2.8.3 para o processamento das basescartográficas. Os resultados obtidos permitiram a identificação de impactos ambientais adversos, que são causados devido a falta do funcionamento do sistema de esgotamento sanitário, o que acaba provocando o despejo de esgotos através de fontes de conexões clandestinas na rede de drenagem pluvial e, consequentemente transportando uma grande quantidade de microrganismos patogênicos para o rio Piancó, sendo estas comprometedoras a saúde pública, e permitindo o aumento do nível de eutrofização no rio Piancó, o que compromete a vida aquática e permite a redução da vazão de água no rio. Tendo em vista estes cenários, faz recomendações de medidas mitigadoras, quanto à alternativa mais favorável para a redução desses impactos ambientais
Population growth and the disorderly urbanization process has led to the emergence of several adverse environmental impacts, such as the consequent increase in sewage generation. The objective of this work was to diagnose the environmental impacts caused by the launch of sewage in the Piancó river in Pombal-PB. The period of research was carried out between May 2017 and August 2017, using the basis of bibliographical research, based on the survey of theoretical references already published by written and electronic means, and field research. exploration and data collection through the photographic registry and by the use of georeferencing software Qgis 2.8.3 for the processing of the cartographic bases. The results obtained allowed the identification of adverse environmental impacts, which are caused due to lack of operation of the sewage system, which leads to the discharge of sewage through sources of clandestine connections in the drainage network and consequently carrying a large quantity of pathogenic microorganisms for the Piancó river, which are compromising public health, and allowing an increase in the level of eutrophication in the Piancó river, which compromises aquatic life and allows the reduction of water flow in the river. In view of these scenarios, it makes recommendations for mitigating measures regarding the most favorable alternative for reducing these environmental impacts.
