Neste artigo pretende se demonstrar como ocorreu o processo de criação, e o uso, do material didático utilizado nas aulas de Língua Brasileira de Sinais, Libras, na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Compreendendo a importância de um melhor aprendizado por parte dos alunos, foi desenvolvido o material didático em vídeo, com diálogos e sinalário. Deseja se que o material produzido pelos professores seja plenamente utilizado no ensino e aprendizado da língua de sinais; tornando os alunos capazes de compre-ender não somente o sinalizar, mas também compreender a Libras enquanto língua de uma comunidade com valores sociais, culturais e linguísticos próprios.
This article aims to show the creation process and the use of teach-ing materials in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) classes at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Based on an understanding of the importance of better learning experiences for students, courseware videos with dialogues and a signed dictionary (sinalário) were developed. It is hoped that this material, produced by teachers, will be fully used in the teaching and learning of sign language, thereby helping students not only to understand signs, but also to appreciate Libras as the language of a community with its own social, cultural and linguistic values.
