O princípio da indissociabilidade das atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão é fundamental na formação acadêmica. O Projeto Pedagógico do Curso (PPC) da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade de Passo Fundo (UPF) visa à relação entre o ensino e a extensão em um sistema de troca de informação entre a escola, o acadêmico e a comunidade onde todos são beneficiados. Com o intuito de proporcionar uma formação acadêmica integral e contextualizada na realidade social do aluno, além de promover a integração Universidade-Comunidade, foram instituídas as atividades de extensão no curso de Odontologia da UPF. No âmbito acadêmico, entende-se que as práticas diárias no interior da instituição são atos educativos, e que a extensão universitária oferece uma oportunidade de inserir o acadêmico no meio social de sua comunidade.
The principle of indissociability between education, research and extension activities is vital to the academic formation. The main objective of the Course Pedagogical Project (Projeto Pedagógico do Curso - PPC) of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Passo Fundo (UPF) is to establish a relationship between education and extension in an information exchange system between the school, the student and the community, whose members are benefited. Extension activities at the Dentistry course of the UPF were established in order to provide an integral academic formation as well as contextualized in the student’s social reality, besides promoting the integration between the university and the community. In the academic scope, it is believed that the daily practices within the institution are educational acts, and that the university extension offers to the academic students an opportunity to get into the social environment of their community
