A região de Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, é mundialmente conhecida em função do ecoturismo.
Dentre seus principais atrativos se destaca o Rio Sucuri, localizado na Reserva
Particular do Patrimônio Natural – RPPN – São Geraldo. A presente pesquisa analisou
o perfil socioeconômico e a satisfação dos turistas quanto ao passeio de flutuação no
Rio Sucuri. A pesquisa exploratória realizada contou com pesquisas bibliográficas, de
campo e entrevistas, com os resultados tabulados e analisados no software Statistics
Package for Social Sciences – SPSS. Os resultados e discussões apresentam as caracterÃsticas
básicas dos fluxos de visitação e do perfil dos visitantes, ambos contrastados
com pesquisas anteriores, bem como propostas para incrementar a gestão mercadológica
e ambiental do atrativo. As conclusões levantam novos questionamentos para a
continuidade das pesquisas no atrativo e na região, com foco nos fluxos turÃsticos da
Serra da Bodoquena, na conservação ambiental por meio do ecoturismo e na qualidade
da experiência turÃstica como ponto-chave para a mitigação dos impactos ambientais
negativos, bem como para a percepção e interpretação ambiental.
The region of Bonito in Mato Grosso do Sul is known world-wide for its ecotourism. One of
the main attractions is the Sucuri River, which is located on the private reserve of natural
heritage (RPPN) of São Geraldo. The present paper analyzes the socio-economic profile
of tourists and their satisfaction in relation to the activity of floating down the Sucuri River.
It involved bibliographic research, field studies, and interviews. The results were tabulated
and analyzed using the software Statistics Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The
results and discussions present the main characteristics of the flow of visitation and the
profile of the visitors; both are compared to previous research, and proposals are made
for an increase in marketing and environmental management of the attraction. The conclusions
call for the continuity of research on the attraction and the region, focusing on
the flow of tourists in Serra da Bodoquena, environmental conservation via ecotourism,
and the quality of the touristic experience as a key to the mitigation of negative environmental
impacts, as well as environmental perception and interpretation.
