We read the article by Costa et al. about the Wade’s histoid variant of Virchowian leprosy, that was first described in 1960, due to incomplete treatment or resistance to dapsone. 1 They reported 3 cases of this challenging multibacillary form of leprosy, which presents with polymorphic lesions delaying the start of treatment and favoring the transmission. The authors didactically described the aspects of this rare manifestation of multibacillary infection by Mycobacterium leprae, that may be controlled by multidrug therapy, besides to highlight divulgation to health workers aiming the leprosy control. 1
