Como o texto é um dos principais instrumentos de pesquisa do historiador, ambicionamos,
neste artigo, problematizar, por meio da historiografia, as concepções de linguagem e discurso que fundamentam
a análise documental e que sustentam os procedimentos empregados para investigação da
fonte histórica, entre eles, o papel da memória na construção da narrativa. Objetivamos, por extensão,
sustentar que a concepção de linguagem adotada pelo pesquisador colabora para que compreendamos a
maneira como se concebe a relação entre memória e história.
As the text is one of the main instruments of research of the historian, we intend, in this article,
problematize by historiography, the conceptions of language and discourse that support the documental
analysis and the procedures used to investigation of the historic source, among them, the role of
the memory in the construction of the narrative. We intend to defend that the conception of language
adopted by the researcher contributes to us understand the way how the historians, in general, conceived
the relationship between memory and history.
