O presente artigo tem por objetivo elaborar uma discussão referente ao romance Carvão animal (2011). Partindo da presença marcante de dois dos principais personagens (Ernesto Wesley e Ronivon), intenta-se conferir a esse trabalho uma análise das noções de “absurdo” e “liberdade” discutidas por Albert Camus (2014) e Jean-Paul Sartre (1984) respectivamente, sinalizando as personagens citadas como sujeitos a serem pensados dentro das possibilidades teóricas.
The present paper aims to elaborate a discussion regardin the novel Carvão animal (2011). By analyzing the remarkable presence of the two main characters (Ernesto Wesley and Ronivon), we attempt to give to bring to this work a reflection of the notions of “absurdity” and “freedom” discussed by Albert Camus (2014) and Jean-Paul Sartre (1984), respectively, signaling both mentioned characters as subjects to be thought within the theoretical possibilities.
