O artigo realiza exercício de análise fílmica de Seguindo em frente que tem como tema central o cotidiano e encontro dos membros da família Yokoyama para lembrar a morte do primogênito. Espaço e memória são os aspectos observados, com atenção ao plano “morto” e interfaces entre ficção e sociedade, a fim de verificar como o realizador faz uso de tais dados para que atuem como elementos narrativos. Tomamos amparo conceitual em Maurice Halbwachs (1990), Michel de Certeau (2013 e 2014) e Paul Ricoeur (2007) para os pontos relacionados à memória, e Gastón Bachelard (2008) para tratar da temática da espacialidade.
This paper aims to analyze the feature film Seguindo em frente (Aruitemo aruitemo, 2008), feature film by Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda, which is focused on the daily situations and on the meeting of the Yokoyama family members to remember the death of the firstborn. Space and memory are central aspects observed with attention dedicated to “pillow shots” and interfaces between fiction and society, in order to verify how the director uses such data to operate as narrative elements. We take conceptual support on Michel de Certeau (2013 and 2014) for issues related to memory and Gaston Bachelard (2008) to deal with the theme of spatiality.
