Pesquisas recentes sobre jornalismo científico têm investigado a comunicação organizacional das instituições de pesquisa e sua presença na mídia, as áreas do conhecimento mais divulgadas e as que menos aparecem e a diferença entre cientistas homens e cientistas mulheres no número de pessoas entrevistadas. Este estudo usa como metodologia a Análise Textual Discursiva para investigar as instituições, as áreas do conhecimento e o sexo das fontes entrevistadas pela revista Pesquisa Fapesp para as suas reportagens de capa e para as seções de entrevista, em suas doze edições publicadas em 2024. Como referencial teórico se tem pesquisas que tratam de comunicação organizacional e de desigualdade de gênero. A Universidade de São Paulo se destaca como instituição com maior número de entrevistados, e mais da metade dos entrevistados são de universidades públicas. A equipe de reportagem da revista entrevistou pesquisadores de todas as regiões do país e também do exterior. Nenhuma pessoa da Grande Área Linguística, Letras e Artes foi entrevistada para as reportagens de capa da revista em 2024. A Grandes Áreas com mais entrevistados são Ciências Exatas e da Terra, Ciências Agrárias e Ciências da Saúde. Entre as áreas específicas, Medicina, Meteorologia e Física são as que têm mais pessoas entrevistadas. As mulheres cientistas representam menos de um terço do total de entrevistados nas reportagens de capa e menos de um quarto nas seções de entrevista.
Recent research on scientific journalism has investigated the organizational communication of research institutions and their presence in the media, the areas of knowledge that are most publicized and those that appear least, and the difference between male and female scientists in the number of people interviewed. This study uses Discursive Textual Analysis as a methodology to investigate the institutions, areas of knowledge and gender of the sources interviewed by Pesquisa Fapesp magazine for its cover stories and interview sections, in its twelve editions published in 2024. The University of São Paulo stands out as the institution with the largest number of interviewees. More than half of those interviewed are from public universities. The magazine's reporting team interviewed researchers from all regions of the country and also from abroad. No person from the Great Area Linguistics, Languages and Arts was interviewed for the magazine's cover stories in 2024. The Great Areas with the most respondents are Exact and Earth Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Health Sciences. Among the specific areas, Medicine, Meteorology and Physics are those with the most people interviewed. Women scientists represent less than a third of the total interviewees in the cover stories and less than a quarter in the interview sections.
