O Afrofuturismo é um termo que surgiu na década de 90 nos EUA, dentro do campo da ficção científica em um texto de autoria do produtor cultural branco Mark Dery, no qual ele busca entender a ausência de escritores negros e negras nas produções ligadas a ficção científica. Porém, desde o seu surgimento, esse conceito tem se ampliado e aprofundado. Não se restrige mais à ficção científica e nem tão somente aos afro-americanos. Tornara-se um movimento estético, cultural, politico, filosófico e educacional de caráter mundial. Este artigo é sobre a possibilidade do seu uso enquanto um dispositivo para a construção de uma educação antirracista. Para tal, analisamos o filme Bluesman, do rapper Baco Exu do Blues, sob a perspectiva afrofuturista.
Afrofuturism is a term that emerged in the 1990s in the USA, within a field of a science fiction written by white cultural producer called Mark Dery, in this research he want to understand the lack of black writers in science fiction productions. However, since its beginning, this concept has been broadened and deepened. It is no longer restricted to science fiction and not only to African Americans. It has became a worldwide a esthetic, cultural, political, philosophical and educational movement. This paper is about the possibility of its use as a device for building an anti-racist education. To do this, we analyze the movie Bluesman, by rapper Baco Exu from Blues, from an Afro-Futurist perspective.
