Proving the crime of infanticide is a challenge for forensic experts, especially in relation to the concept and duration of the puerperal state, which is one of the main characteristics of this crime. Therefore, this article seeks to outline some considerations about infanticide and the puerperal state, highlighting the difficulties of forensic experts in confirming its existence, as well as the time of its occurrence.
