O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o papel da enfermagem na assistência ao paciente em tratamento hemodialítico. Estudo descritivo, exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, realizado no período de maio a junho de 2017, em uma clínica de hemodiálise no município de Fortaleza. Realizado entrevista semiestruturado com 24 participantes. Resultados: evidencia-se que os cuidados referidos pelos técnicos/auxiliares de enfermagem incluem: verificação do funcionamento da máquina de hemodiálise, prevenção de infecção durante os procedimentos, verificação dos sinais vitais se algum sinal de mal-estar do paciente. E os técnicos de enfermagem exercem suas atividades por mais de 48 horas/semana, enfermeiros 30 a 36 semanas. Assim, a importância do papel do enfermeiro como educador e facilitador da atenção ao cuidado, exige habilidades especiais, assim como entendimento dos sentimentos que são expressos, no momento da sessão hemodinâmica.
The objective of the study was to analyze the role of nursing in patient care in hemodialysis. A descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach, carried out from May to June 2017, in a hemodialysis clinic in the city of Fortaleza. Semistructured interview was carried out with 24 participants. Results: it is evident that the care referred to by nursing technicians / assistants includes: checking the operation of the hemodialysis machine, preventing infection during procedures, checking vital signs if any signs of patient malaise. And nursing technicians perform their activities for more than 48 hours / week, nurses 30 to 36 weeks. Thus, the importance of the role of the nurse as educator and facilitator of attention to care requires special skills as well as understanding the feelings that are expressed at the time of the hemodynamic session.
