O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender o atual processo de formaçãoinicial dos estudantes concludentes do curso de Licenciatura em Educação Física,no que concerne à formação para as relações étnico-raciais no Instituto Federal doCeará – Campus, Juazeiro do Norte, e o papel das pessoas envolvidas com osnúcleos de estudos relacionados à temática. O procedimento metodológico seguiuuma abordagem qualitativa, por meio do estudo de campo, por intermédio deentrevistas semiestruturadas com professores(as) de Educação Física e estudantesfundadores(as) do primeiro núcleo de estudos relacionado à temática. Os resultadosrevelaram que as ações pedagógicas que buscam espaço para as relações étnico-raciais no currículo ocorrem precipuamente devido ao esforço de um docente negro,ligado ao movimento negro, que, com apoio de estudantes, criaram um núcleo deinvestigação étnico-racial de maneira autônoma e tensionaram espaço institucionalreivindicando a urgência de uma educação crítica e antirracista na instituição.
he objective of this work was to understand the current initial trainingprocess of the students completing the Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education,concerning the training for ethnic-racial relations at the Federal Institute of Ceará -Campus, Juazeiro do Norte and the role of the people involved with the study centersrelated to the theme. The methodological procedure followed a qualitative approach,through a field study, through semi-structured interviews with Physical Educationteachers and founding students of the first study center related to the theme. Theresults revealed that the pedagogical actions that seek space for ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum occur mainly due to the effort of a black teacher, linked tothe black movement, who, with the support of students, created an ethnic-racialresearch center autonomously and tensioned institutional space claiming the urgencyof a critical and anti-racist education in the institution.
