O artigo trata dos estudos históricos de Caio Prado Júnior e sua presença na construção de um discurso acerca da formação da nacionalidade brasileira, caracterizandoÂa como uma intervenção que procurou encontrar um sentido histórico na transformação da colônia à nação em que a permanência da primeira e a incompletude da última são as suas marcas fundamentais, que ganham maior clareza a partir do estudo dos espaços econômicos e geográficos que constituem o território brasileiro.
The article deals with the historical studies of Caio Prado Júnior and its presenceÂ
in the construction of a discourse concerning the formation of the Brazilian nationality,
characterizing it as an intervention that it looked to find a historical direction in theÂ
transformation of the colony to the nation where the incompletude and permanence first of
the last one are its basic marks, that they gain greater clarity from the study of the economicÂ
and geographic spaces that they constitute the brazilian territory.Â
