Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar e discutir a utilização de computador e
internet no contexto educacional, com ênfase no uso de blogs no processo de ensino e
aprendizagem de lÃngua inglesa. Para isso, propomos as seguintes perguntas de pesquisa: 1)
De que maneira os blogs podem ser usados nas aulas de lÃngua inglesa?;2) Quais as possÃveis
contribuições de sua utilização para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem desta lÃngua? Para
tentar responder às perguntas, adotamos a metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica, com base
nos estudos de Caiado (2007), Paiva (2004, 2008), Vygostky (1998), Warschauer e Healey
(1998), entre outros. Após breve viagem através dos estudos dos referidos autores,
percebemos o blog como recurso recente das Novas Tecnologias de Informação e
Comunicação, cuja utilização pode favorecer o desenvolvimento da motivação e da
autonomia dos estudantes ao lhes propiciar ambientes reais e materiais autênticos para sua
aprendizagem de lÃngua inglesa.
This paper aims to present and to discuss the use of computer and internet in the
educational context, focusing on the blogs use in the teaching and learning process of English
language. For that, we proposed the following research questions: 1) How can the blogs be
used in the English language classes?; 2) What are the possible contributions of their use for
the teaching and learning process of this language? Trying to answer to the questions, we
adopted the methodology of bibliographical research, based on the studies of Caiado (2007),
Paiva (2004, 2008), Vygostky (1998), Warschauer and Healey (1998), among others. After a
brief trip through the referred authors' studies, we noticed the blog as a recent resource of the
New Technologies of Information and Communication, and its use can benefit the
development of the students’ motivation and autonomy when propitiating them real
atmospheres and authentic materials for their English language learning.
