Várias foram as questões em relação às proposições de autoria/autor que tanto demarcaram alguns debates nas diversas áreas das Humanidades ao longo século passado e que, atualmente, encontram-se em uma espécie de “limbo” teórico que acabou por delegá-las a um espaço de digressão secundário nos estudos históricos. Em que pese os efeitos causados pela assim chamada “crise dos paradigmas” nas Ciências Sociais durante a segunda metade do século passado, as preocupações teóricas e metodológicas que orientam o fazer historiográfico impõem aos profissionais da História formas diversas de investigação, sobretudo, em relação ao debate acerca dos textos literários e a busca de uma percepção ou compreensão social, política, cultural de uma época específica. O presente artigo objetiva, então, refletir acerca dos paradigmas de autor/autoria encontrados na literatura medieval, em especial, aqueles oferecidos nos romances tristanianos produzidos entre os séculos XII e XIII, cujos autores indicados são Béroul e Gottfried von Straßburg. Autores esses que, além de apontarem para si e para o seu ofício intelectual e memorialístico, propuseram-se a contar suas respectivas versões da lenda, frutos do ambiente nobiliárquico em primazia no Ocidente medieval e dos ideais de comportamento e etiqueta vinculados a este grupo social em específico.
There were several questions in relation to the authorship/author propositions that marked the debates in the field of Social Sciences over the last century and, currently, are in a kind of theoretical “limbo” that locked them up to a secondary space of investigation in historical studies. Despite the effects caused by the so-called “paradigm crisis” in the Humanities during the second half of the last century, the theoretical and methodological concerns that guide historiographical work impose diverse forms of investigation on History professionals. Above all, in relation to the debate about literary texts and the search for a social, political, cultural perception or understanding of a specific time. This article aims, then, to reflect on the paradigms of author/authorship found in medieval literature, in particular, those offered in some of the Tristan’s romances produced between the 12th and 13th centuries, whose indicated authors are Béroul and Gottfried von Straßburg. Authors who, in addition to pointing to themselves and their intellectual and memorialist work, set out to tell their respective versions of the legend, fruits of the noble environment in primacy in the medieval West and the ideals of behaviour and etiquette linked to this social group in specific.
