No litoral potiguar existem vinte e duas cidades e 70 comunidades costeiras. Desde a década de 1990 com a implantação do turismo de sol e mar o tríade desprezou inúmeras outras potencialidades locais. Com o aporte do materialismo histórico dialético e da pesquisa participante, o estudo objetivou identificar as potencialidades socioculturais, econômicas e ambientais que hegemonicamente o tríade exclui, a fim de implantar o turismo de base local comunitário.
On the coast of Rio Grande do Norte there are twenty-two cities and 70 coastal communities. Since the1990s, with the implementation of sun and sea tourism, the triad has neglected numerous other local potentialities. With the contribution of dialectical historical materialism and participatory research, the study aimed to identify the sociocultural, economic and environmental potential that the triad hegemonically excludes, in order to implement local community-based tourism.
