A presença de insetos e outros animais em ambientes de saúde caracteriza-se como um risco para a saúde, uma vez que pode trazer problemasao ambiente, aos profissionais e aosusuários. Assim, idealizou-se o presente estudotendo como objetivo analisar o controle e as medidas de prevenção de pragas e vetores no serviço de hemoterapia dohemocentro Regional deArapiraca/AL(HEMOAL);discorrersobre o entendimento da gestão/supervisãoacerca da problemática, das legislações sanitárias e as medidas de enfrentamento de caráter preventivo adotadas pelo serviço. Realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica e decampo. A pesquisa de campo utilizando um questionáriojunto à gestãode qualidade e supervisão do Hemocentro de Arapiraca. Com o estudo foi possível verificar que na instituição pesquisada existe uma preocupação e conhecimentos sobre pragas e vetores, que a gestão/supervisão do hemocentro procura seguir as legislações sanitárias, bem como, que são desenvolvidas estratégias de enfrentamento e prevenção, na rotina do hemocentro, com o objetivo de manter a instituição livre de possíveis infestações.
The presence of insects and other animals in health environments is characterized as a health risk, since it can bring problems to the environment, professionals and users. Thus, the present study was designed with the objective of analyzing the control and prevention measures of pests and vectors in the hemotherapy service of the Regional Blood Center of Arapiraca/AL (HEMOAL); talk about the understanding of management / supervision about the problem, health legislation and preventive coping measures adopted by the service. We conducted a bibliographic and field research. Field research using a questionnaire with the quality management and supervision of the Hemocentro de Arapiraca. With the study it was possible to verify that in the researched institution there is a concern and knowledge about pests and vectors, that the management / supervision of the blood centerseeks to follow the health legislation, as well as, that coping and prevention strategies are developed, in the blood center routine, in order to keep the institution free from possible infestations.
