Este artigo aborda as discussões e os resultados científicos da pesquisa intitulada “Produção de sinopse de filmes: em cena a compreensão intercultural do cinema”, a qual foi fundamentada sob a ótica conceptual de Línguas, Discurso e Culturas. Tomamos a língua, dentre outros aspectos, como sendo produto cultural, permitindo a interação social e comunicativa entre os falantes. O seu ciclo de reprodução, além de se materializar em gêneros discursivos diversos, ocorre através dos mesmos. Com o intuito de abordar os gêneros do discurso, tomamos Bakhtin (1997, 2006) para relacionar diferentes esferas da atividade humana com a língua, impulsionando o seu estudo enquanto prática social. Nesse enfoque, tomamos o gênero sinopse de filmes como um objeto de estudo, não somente para entender seu estilo, suas características (in)formais e sua função social, mas para compreender a produção fílmica, em língua inglesa, observando seus aspectos culturais, para assim exercitar a prática de produção textual, divulgando sentidos interculturais do cinema para novos leitores. A pesquisa foi realizada na Universidade do Estado da Bahia – campus II sob a forma de Pesquisa Colaborativa (IBIAPINA, 2016), que ocorreu através de Sessões Colaborativas com os sujeitos em formação do curso de Letras, Língua Inglesa e Literaturas. Nosso interesse foi utilizar a construção de sinopses e a exibição dos filmes para abordar aspectos interculturais de países que têm o inglês como primeira, segunda ou língua estrangeira, deste modo, vimos a oportunidade de promover mais respeito pelas variações linguísticas da língua inglesa. Esta ação, além de se constituir oportunidade de leitura e compreensão intercultural de um mundo onde as fronteiras estão cada vez mais estreitas, antecipa o interesse para sua inserção numa prática socialdiscursiva programada -um Festival de Filmes exibindo os filmes selecionados e suas sinopses.
This article aims at approaching the discussions and the scientific results of the research entitled “Film synopsis construction: the intercultural understanding of cinema on the scene”, which was based on the perspective of Language, Discourse and Cultures. We understand language, among other aspects, as a cultural product that allows the communicative and social interactions amongst speakers. Its reproduction cycle, in addition to materializing diverse discursive genres, happens due to them. Intending to study discursive genres, we focused on Bakhtin (1997, 2006) to relate the different spheres of human activity to the language, stimulating its study as a social practice. In this regard, we worked with film synopsis as an object of study, not only to understand its style, its (in)formal characteristics andits social function, but to comprehend the filmic production in English, observing its cultural aspects, to work on the writing practice, spreading the intercultural meaning of the cinema to new readers. The research took place at Bahia State University –campus II, through Collaborative Research (IBIAPINA, 2016), that occurred through Collaborative Research with the undergraduate students majoring in the English Language and Literatures. Our objective was to make use of the synopsis construction and the films exhibit to approach intercultural aspects of countries that have English as their first, second or foreign language, i.e., we saw the opportunity to promote more respect for English linguistic variations. This action, in addition to being a reading and intercultural comprehension chance of a world where the borders are shortening, shows the interest for its arranged discursive social practice –an Intercultural Film Festival showing the selected films and their synopsis.
