Apresentamos um mapeamento da produção da psicologia social em Minas Gerais tomando como referência o periódico Psicologia & Sociedade. Buscamos explorar as articulações teóricas e práticas dessa produção com seu contexto sócio-político mais imediato. Realizamos um estudo documental e o corpus construído foi composto pelos 10 primeiros números desse Periódico (entre 1986 e 1992). Como resultado, identifi camos que 83,74% da produção de Minas Gerais nesse período apresentava como vinculo institucional a UFMG. Em relação à temática, houve a predominância de psicologia comunitária e análise institucional (19,7%) e gênero e sexualidade (13,1%). A forma como foram abordadas revela uma preocupação com as dimensões ética e política da psicologia social, interesse pelas minorias sociais, pela transformação de relações de opressão e com novos lugares do psicólogo.
We present a production mapping of social psychology in the state of Minas Gerais with reference to the journal Psicologia & Sociedade. We sought to explore the theoretical and practical articulations of this production and its more immediate socio-political context. A documentary study based upon the Journal´s fi rst ten issues (from 1986 to 1992) was performed. Th e results showed that 83.74% of the state’s production had an institutional link with the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Regarding the thematic areas, there was a predominance of community psychology and institutional analysis (19.7%), and gender and sexuality (13.1%). Th ese studies were mostly concerned with the ethical and political dimensions of social psychology, the interest in social minorities, the transformation of oppression relationships, and the new roles for psychologists.
