A second-order closure model (MFSO) coupled with an urban canopy model (MDU) is used to study the role of soil occupation of an urban region on the surface energy balance on the vertical structure of the planetary boundary layer (CLP) . In all cases the canopy is considered homogeneous and without topography. The temporal evolution of PLC height and surface temperature and vertical oscillations of potential temperature and turbulent kinetic energy (ECT) are discussed.
