Com o estímulo à produção e ao uso de biodiesel, o crambe representa uma das melhoresopções para o fornecimento de matéria-primapara o setor, uma vez que contém valoresexpressivos de óleo em suas sementes. A demanda por sementes de qualidade, para o estabelecimento da cultura, tem aumentado a cada ano. Nesse sentido, cita-se que aprodução de sementes de elevada qualidade genética, física, fisiológica (germinação e vigor) e sanitária envolve várias atividades, desdeo trabalho de melhoramento até o momento da comercialização. Conforme alegislação de sementes vigenteno país, no processo de produção é fundamental que as etapas de campo, colheita, secagem, beneficiamento earmazenamento, entre outras, sejam efetuadas dentro de normas e padrões pré-estabelecidos para a comercialização desse importante insumo agrícola. Objetivou-se, com este trabalho de revisão de literatura, levantar as principais informações referentes à cultura do crambe, visando à produção de sementes de qualidade superior. Diante das informações obtidas nesta revisão, verifica-se que ainda há carências ou indefinições em determinadas áreas, sugerindo-se a realização de novos estudos nas diversas etapas dosistema de produção de sementes de crambe.
With the encouragement of the production and use of biodiesel, crambe represents one of the best options for the supply of raw material for the sector, since it contains expressive values of oil in its seeds. The demand for quality seeds, for the establishment ofthe crop, has increased every year. In this sense, it is mentioned that the production of seeds of high genetic, physical, physiological (germination and vigor) and sanitary quality involves several activities, from the improvement work until the moment of commercialization. According to the seed legislation in force in the country, in the production process it is essential that the stages of field, harvesting, drying, processing and storage, among others, are carried out within pre-established norms and standards for the commercialization of this important agricultural input. The aim of this literature review was to gather the main information regarding the crambe culture, aiming at the production of superior quality seeds. In view of the information obtained in this review, it appears that there are still deficiencies or lack of definition in certain areas, suggesting further studies in the various stages of thecrambe seed production system.
