O presente trabalho pretende demonstrar discussões existentes entre totalitarismo e representação literária, neste caso o romance de George Orwell, 1984. Com base nos estudos de Hannah Arendt sobre o tema, a análise decorre chegando-se a conclusão de que o autor estava movido por preceitos ideológicos arraigados, por suas experiências pessoais no pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial, e no eminente estado de Guerra Fria que decorreria em seguida.
This paper aims to show discussions between totalitarianism and literary representation, in this case the novel by George Orwell, 1984.
