O presente trabalho tem como objetivo discutir alguns elementos ligados à quebra de tabus e da desestruturação da tradição patriarcal e familiar presentes no romance Lavoura Arcaica (1975), do escritor brasileiro Raduan Nassar. Assim, ao abordar a problemática do amor entre dois irmãos (crime do incesto), do assassinato do genitor (crime do parricÃdio), e da partida e retorno do filho pródigo, André (o narrador personagem), o autor almeja elencar a possibilidade de desmantelamento do discurso sagrado com o intuito de fundar o profano no seio familiar, uma vez que a narrativa trabalha com a reatualização e o diálogo com toda uma tradição das doutrinas religiosas do oriente médio (judaÃsmo-cristanismo-islamismo) por meio das inferências bÃblicas e corânicas. Ademais, o desvelar do âmago do profano, das concepções de tradição e do tabu serão conduzidos aqui graças aos conceitos de Freud (1971) e Eliade (2001), além e das ideias de Fredrich Nietzche.
TRADITION, TABOO AND RUPTURE OF THE SACRED IN RADUAN NASSAR’S TO THE LEFT OF THE FATHER
This paper aims to discuss some elements related to the breaking of taboos and the breakdown of patriarchal tradition and family present in the novel To the Left of the Father (1975), by the Brazilian writer Raduan Nassar. Thus, when addressing the issue of love between two brothers (crime of incest), murder of the father (crime of parricide), and the departure and return of the prodigal son, André (the narrator), the author aims to list the possibility of dismantling of sacred discourse in order to establish the profane in the family, since the narrative works with the reactualization and the dialogue between the religious doctrines of the Middle East (Judaism-Christianity-Islam) through Quranic and biblical inferences. Moreover, the reveal of the heart of the profane, the concepts of tradition and taboo will be conducted thanks to the concepts of Freud (1971) and Eliade (2001), besides the ideas of Fredrich Nietzche.
