A Companhia de Jesus manifestou desde sua fundação um vivo interesse pela história. O número de historiadores dedicados ao estudo e preservação da memória escrita e do passado da instituição é notável. Apesar das diferenças e das épocas distintas em que viveram e escreveram, é perfeitamente identificável semelhanças narrativas entre os historiadores da Companhia que definem um estilo jesuÃtico de escrita da história. Este artigo propõe uma abordagem da historiografia jesuÃtica, aqui representada pelo historiador argentino José MarÃa Blanco, com o intuito de identificar alguns traços do estilo dos historiadores inacianos.
The Society of Jesus from its foundation has expressed a keen interest in history. The number of
historians devoted to studying and preserving the memory of the past and writing of the institution
is remarkable. Despite the differences and the different eras in which they lived and wrote, is
perfectly identifiable similarities between the narratives that historians of the Company define
a Jesuit style of writing history. This article proposes an approach of Jesuit historiography,
represented here by argentine historian José MarÃa Blanco, in order to identify some features of
Ignatian style of historians.
