da Conquista da América, apresentamos a forma como a História foi utilizada pelos
historiadores da Conquista. Discute-se o uso da polÃtica na história como forma de
legitimar ou contestar as realizações daqueles que participaram do processo da
Conquista.
Making use of scrip works during the sixteenth century and early seventeenth
centuries dealing with the Conquest of America, we present how the history has
benn used by historians of the Conquest. It discusses the political use of history as
a way to legitimize or challenge the achievements of those who took part in the
Conquest.
