É através da tradução que temos acesso a filmes, séries, músicas, documentários e tantas outras mídias que refletem a cultura do seu país de origem. A dublagem e a legendagem são facilitadores para o acesso a esse conteúdo. Esses dois processos são realizados de forma minuciosa levando em conta a fala, tempo de diálogo, vocabulário e principalmente o entendimento de quem irá acessar o conteúdo. Observando o público alvo, destacam-se alguns fenômenos dentro do processo tradutório, são eles as transcriações, adaptações e domesticações, que normalmente vão utilizar elementos equivalentes de culturas diferentes, como por exemplo, a tradução de ditados populares, piadas que fazem referência a elementos comuns da cultura do texto de partida e modificados no texto de chegada. Atualmente podemos observar também uma inserção inusitada e inovadora nas traduções audiovisuais de algumas obras, o uso de memes, que são imagens e textos que viralizam nas redes e acabam também por aparecer em ambientes físicos de comunicação de forma muito similar aos ditados populares e expressões idiomáticas comumente usadas. Esses elementos já estão sendo inseridos dentro de dublagens e legendas, como é o caso da série Disenchantment, produzida e distribuída pela Netflix e que será o material a ser analisado nesse artigo. O objetivo desse artigo é observar e analisar como ocorrem essas adaptações com memes, quais os propósitos delas e analisar como os memes se conectam ao contexto de partida e ao contexto de chegada.
It isthrough translation that we have access to films, series, music, documentaries and so many other media that reflect the culture of their origin country. Dubbing and subtitling are facilitators for accessing this content. These two processes are carried out in a thorough manner,considering speech, dialogue time, vocabulary and especially the understanding of who will access the content. Observing the target audience, some situations within the translation process stand out, they are the transcreation, adaptations and domestications, which will normally use equivalent elements from different cultures, such as the translation of popular sayings, jokes that refer to elements common to the source text culture and modified in the target text. Currently we can also observe an unusual and innovative insertion in the audiovisual translations of some works, the use of memes, which are images and texts that go viral on the networks and also end up appearing in physical communication environments in a very similar way to popular sayings and idiomatic expressions commonly used. These elements are already being inserted into dubbings and subtitles, like the tv show “Disenchantment” produced and distributed by Netflix and which will be the material to be analyzed in this text. The purpose of this work is to observe and analyze how these adaptations with memes occur, whatistheir purposes and to analyze how memes connect to the starting context and the final context.
