Os adenovírus humanos podem causar infecções gastrointestinais, urogenitais e respiratórias tanto em crianças como adultos. Para verificar a permissividade de células de origem hematopoiética à infecção por HAdV-41, infectou-se PBMC e linfócitos intraepiteliais de pacientes voluntários. Os ensaios foram comparados com células HEK 293 infectadas. PBMC e linfócitos intestinais mostraram-se permissivos à infecção por HAdV-41.Essa evidência colabora para afirmar que HAdV-41 pode infectar tais células. Esses resultados ajudam a compreender os mecanismos de interação vírus - célula e trazem novas informações para desenvolver adenovírus como vetores, com base em sorotipos entéricos, visando aplicação na terapia genética.
Human adenoviruses are causative agents of infections in the gastrointestinal, urogenital, and neurological systems, both in children and adults. In order to verify the permissiveness of hematopoietic cells to HAdV-41 infection, PBMC and intestinal lymphocytes from volunteers were infected. The infection assays were compared to infected HEK 293 cells. PBMC and lymphocytes were permissive to HAdV-41 infection. This evidence confirmed that HAdV-41 can infect these cells types. These results help to understand the virus cell interactions mechanisms and they bring new information to develop adenovirus vector, based in enteric serotypes, to apply in target gene therapy.
