In this article it is carried out an analysis of the nationalism like a political phenomenon, making a historical journey from Europe to America and linking it to the birth of the national State in both continents. In this context it is observed to the nationalism from three differentiated moments or phases to those that is pointed out as feeling of love to the homeland, like as ideology and political movement, so that we can understand better this phenomenon to which many of the big world events are associate.
En este artículo se realiza un análisis del nacionalismo como un fenómeno político, realizando un recorrido histórico desde Europa hasta América y vinculándolo al nacimiento del Estado nacional en ambos continentes. En este sentido se observa al nacionalismo desde tres momentos diferenciados o fases a las que se señala como sentimiento de amor a la patria, como ideología y como movimiento político, de manera que podamos comprender mejor este fenómeno al cual están asociados muchos de los grandes acontecimientos mundiales.
