Thise article is the result of a presentation at the roundtable on the challenges of inculturation at the Teologicum Conference of the Institut Catholique de Paris, held in June 2016, which had the theme Dialogue des rationalites culturelles et religieuses. The "Ritual of Baptism of Children" is the only complete ritual that brings adaptations to the nature of the Brazilian people. After a brief memory of the history of the Ritual, D. Geraldo Lyrio, who successfully completed the Ritual on which the author was invited to collaborate, evokes these adaptations in his presentation. Making adaptations to the Ritual in order to make it pastorally more communicative means making inculturation, even if it is a simple one. It is also necessary to take into account the Catholicism or popular religiosity that has found its just recognition in the CELAM Documents and is today highly valued by Pope Francis.
L’article est le fruit d’une communication pour la table-ronde «Les défis de l’inculturation» au Congrès du Teologicum de l’Institut Catholique de Paris - Dialogue des rationalites culturelles et religieuses, en juin 2016. Le “Rituel du baptême d’enfants est le seul rituel complet qui comporte des adaptations à la mentalité brésilienne. Après un bref rappel de l’histoire du Rituel, on souligne les adaptations au caractère brésilien à partir de la Présentation de D. Geraldo Lyrio qui a conduit à bon terme la réalisation du Rituel auquel l’auteur a été invité à collaborer. Faire des adaptations au Rituel pour le rendre pastoralement plus «parlant» signifie faire inculturation, même simple. Il faut aussi tenir compte du «catholicisme ou religiosité populaire», réalité qui a trouvé place dans les documents du CELAM et est, aujourd’hui, bien valorisée par le Pape François.
