O presente artigo busca demonstrar a relevância e pertinência da governança global frente à questão ambiental. Este trabalho tem
por objetivo analisar desafios que se colocam à consolidação de um sistema de governança ambiental global. Considerando que
a questão ambiental diz respeito a um bem público global, sobrepondo-se, pois, aos limites estabelecidos pelas fronteiras físicas
dos Estados-Nação, a fragmentação da estrutura organizacional do sistema de governança transnacional em vigor atualmente.
Aborda, de modo teórico, a atuação de diferentes atores com o propósito de, por meio da governança Global, encontrar soluções
viáveis e aplicáveis diante das limitações sistêmicas para a proteção do meio ambiente, pautado no desenvolvimento sustentável,
possibilitadora de condições ambientais dignas para as futuras gerações.

the objective of this article
is to analyze challenges that are posed to the consolidation of a global environmental governance system. Considering that the
environmental issue concerns a global public good, thus overlapping the boundaries established by the physical borders of the
nation-states, the fragmentation of the organizational structure of the transnational system of governance currently in force. It
addresses, in a theoretical way, the actions of different actors with the purpose of using Global governance to find viable and
applicable solutions in the face of systemic limitations for the protection of the environment, based on sustainable development,
enabling decent environmental conditions for future generations.
