O presente trabalho, objetiva demonstrar, brevemente, o longo caminho percorrido pelo conceito de igualdade na história da humanidade, atravessando o tempo e as fronteiras, transformando-se em princípio constitucional, direito fundamental do ser humano e sendo garantido por um poder estatal com o objetivo de construir uma sociedade harmônica e feliz. Será definido conceitualmente o Princípio da Igualdade ou Isonomia e demonstrado sua relação com os povos e seu acolhimento pela Constituição Federal e pelo Direito Penal. Será possível, ao fim deste, perceber a necessidade de disponibilizar no sistema educacional a temática igualdade e seus fundamentos, com o propósito de formar cidadãos justos e críticos.
The present work aims to briefly demonstrate the long way the concept of equality has traveled in the history of mankind, crossing time and borders, becoming a constitutional principle, the fundamental right of the human being and being guaranteed by a state power with goal of building a harmonious and happy society. It will be conceptually defined the Principle of Equality or Isonomy and its relationship with the peoples and its acceptance by the Federal Constitution and Penal Law. It will be possible, at the end of this, to realize the need to make available in the educational system the theme equality and its foundations, with the purpose of forming just and critical citizens.
