There is considerable debate about if the
concept of race takes relevance to the 16th
century and then gradually changed under the
influence of different contexts, or instead
starts at the end of the 19th century. This
article seeks to analyse the footprints of
academic and social construction of race and
nation in modern concepts. Case analysis will
study the influence that subsequently took
both concepts in the emergence of judÃo-israelÃ
nationalism.
Existe un considerable debate acerca de si el
concepto de raza toma relevancia hacia el siglo
XVI y luego fue cambiando paulatinamente bajo
el influjo de diferentes contextos, o en cambio
si se inicia a fines del siglo XIX. El presente
artÃculo busca analizar las huellas de la construcción
social y académica de los conceptos de
raza y nación en la modernidad. Como caso de
análisis se estudiará la influencia que posteriormente
tuvieron ambos conceptos en el surgimiento
del nacionalismo judÃo-israelÃ.
