O objetivo principal desta pesquisa consiste em evidenciar a percepção sobre o tema “ética†por alunos que estudam no último ano de graduação de Ciências Contábeis em universidades da região sul do Brasil. Este estudo tem caracterÃstica descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa. A coleta de dados ocorreu mediante aplicação de uma survey, de forma transversal e ex post facto. A interpretação dos dados parte da análise entre dois clusters, diferenciados por nÃvel de concordância, generalista (maior concordância com os preceitos éticos) e parcial (concordância em menor grau dos preceitos éticos), em relação à s proposições investigativas. Na perspectiva da ética poder ser ensinada; normativa; relativa; questionada; e depender da cultura, não se identifica diferenças significativas na percepção dos alunos. Salienta-se a importância reconhecida em relação ao Código de Ética da Profissão Contábil para guiar a conduta profissional. Contudo, dentre os respondentes do nÃvel generalista em 55,56% afirmam não terem sequer lido o código anteriormente a esta investigação.
The main objective of this research is to highlight the perception of the subject of ethics for students in their final year of accountancy at universities in southern Brazil. This study has a descriptive characteristic with a quantitative approach. The data was collected by applying a survey; across the board and ex post facto. The interpretation of the data came from the analysis between two clusters, differentiated by level of agreement; general (higher agreement with the ethical principles) and partial (agreement to a lesser degree of ethics), in relation to investigative proposals. From the perspective of ethics being able to be taught; normative, questioned, and dependant on culture, there were no signifi cant differences in the student’s perception. The importance, which has been acknowledged, of the Code of Ethics of the Accounting Profession to guide professional conduct, was stressed. However, among respondents in the general level, 55.56% said they had not even read the code prior to this investigation.
