Este artigo tem o objetivo de refletir sobre o contexto da sala de aula de lÃngua
inglesa em uma escola pública para a compreensão das motivações que geram ações no
processo ensino-aprendizagem. Seguimos o modelo de pesquisa em LinguÃstica Aplicada,
realizando uma microanálise etnográfica, através de observação participante, entrevistas e
questionários. ConcluÃmos que é necessário que haja um resgate do interesse dos
participantes do contexto da sala de aula de lÃngua inglesa e que é preciso um entendimento
prático do uso da lÃngua estrangeira na vida dos estudantes.
This article aims at thinking about the context of the English classroom in a public
school to understand the motivations that generate actions in teaching-learning process. We follow
the model of research in Applied Linguistics performing an ethnographic microanalysis through the
use of participant observation, interviews, and questionnaires. We assume that there must be a rescue
to redeem the interest of the participants of the English language classroom and that it is also
necessary to obtain a practical understanding of the use of the foreign language in the students’ life.
