Entre os mecanismos de participação constituÃdos pela sociedade civil para o controle das
ações do Estado, os conselhos gestores se mostram como os mais institucionalizados e
discutidos. O objetivo deste artigo é destacar o papel dos conselhos após os anos de 1990,
quando o conceito de sociedade civil foi remodelado em função das novas formas de
atuação dos movimentos sociais.
Amongst the participation mechanisms constituted by the civic society to control the State’s
actions, the management counsels show themselves as the most institutionalized and
discussed ones. This article’s objective is to highlight the counsels’ role after the year 1990,
when the concept of civic society was remodeled due to new ways of action in civic
movements.
