Neste artigo, analisamos os sentidos e os usos que são Gregório Magno dá aos termos regimen e administratio; diferentes entre si, já que o primeiro se refere à função do clérigo e o segundo, à função do magistrado civil, ambos indicam uma comum finalidade sobrenatural: a salvação dos homens mediante a conversão à fé e a cristianização dos comportamentos. Igreja e Cidade são, portanto, parcelas de uma mesma unidade supratemporal: a sociedade cristã.
This article examines the meanings and usages of the terms regimen and administratio according
to Gregory the Great. They’re different, because the first one refers to
the role of the clergy and the second,
the role of civil magistrate, however
both indicate a common supernatural
purpose: the salvation of the men by
means of the conversion to the faith
and the christianization of the behaviors.
Church and City are parcels of
the same supertemporal unit, that is,
the Christian society.
