O presente trabalho tem por objetivo investigar a natureza da aglomeração produtiva do complexo portuário do Açu, ainda em fase de construção. Busca-se o seu mapeamento, com base nas diversas tipologias disponÃveis na literatura, assim como, a verificação do processo de coordenação local. Espera-se que um melhor entendimento sobre o processo, auxilie no planejamento e na implementação de possÃveis ações em direção a absorção das oportunidades, oriundas das externalidades decorrentes. A partir de procedimentos metodológicos baseados na pesquisa de natureza exploratória, descritiva e explicativa, pode-se observar acentuada convergência de percepção sobre o futuro da aglomeração entre o setor público e o empreendedor, o que não se verificou entre os agentes e representações de grupos de interesse da sociedade (agricultura, comércio, turismo, comunicação e cultura, meio ambiente e ensino e pesquisa).
This study aims to investigate the nature of the productive agglomeration of Açu port complex, which is still under construction. The goal of the research is to categorize the port complex based on the different typologies available in the literature, as well as verify the process of local coordination. It is hoped that a better understanding of the process can assist in the planning and implementation of possible actions towards the absorption of the opportunities arising from the consequent externalities. With regards to methodological procedures, the study was based on exploratory, descriptive and explanatory research. This made it possible to notice strong convergence of perceptions between the government and the entrepreneur on the future of the agglomeration, which was not observed between the agents and representatives of the interest of society (agriculture, trade, tourism, communication and culture, environment, education and research).
