Educação matemática crítica tem importância não somente para estudantes em situações desfavoráveis, como também para outros grupos de estudantes. É possível considerar um grupo de estudantes em posições economicamente confortáveis. Em relação a esse grupo, matemática também pode ser efetivamente usada para ensinar e aprender sobre questões de injustiça social. Educação matemática crítica tem relevância para estudantes com deficiência, estudantes idosos, e estudantes marginalizados, por exemplo, por causa da cultura. Educação matemática crítica, também, é relevante aos estudantes universitários de matemática e de engenharia. Esses estudantes vêm para dominar leituras e escritas poderosas do mundo que possam ter uma necessidade urgente de crítica. Para a educação matemática crítica é fundamental abordar qualquer forma de leitura e escrita com a matemática.
Critical mathematical education is important with respect to students in miserable situations, but also to many other groups of students. It is possible to consider students in economically comfortable positions. Regarding this group, mathematics can also be effectively used to teach and learn about issues of social injustice. Critical mathematical education matters in relation to students with disabilities, for example deaf and blind students; elderly students, and students who are marginalized, for example due to cultural diversities. Critical mathematics education also needs to address university students in mathematics as well as any group of engineering students. These groups of students come to master powerful readings and writings of the world, which however are in an urgent need of criticism. For critical mathematics education it is important to address any form of reading and writing the world with mathematics.
