Este artigo objetiva questionar a desinstalação da Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos e a instalaçãodo Museu de usos e costumes na cidade de Palmeira dos Índiosno referido espaço físico.Recuperar essas discussão é uma oportunidade de se pensar o quanto determinados equipamentos que fazem parte do patrimônio físico da cidade não representam,em sua essência,as diferentes subjetividades que fazem parte do lugar, sendo,portanto,ilegítimosna sua origem, pois entende-se queum Museu de Costumes deve representar o cotidiano das diferentes grupos sociais que compõe a cidadee deve surgir de forma a devolver aos habitantes a verdadeira história do lugar,sendo umcompromisso social, em quepossamos sinalizar condições de possibilidades de um habitar mais democrático
The city of Palmeira dos Índios has in the history of its foundation the presence of the Xucurus-Kariris indigenous people and the black people of Tabacaria, this article has as its goal the questioning of the uninstallation of the Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretoschurch to install the Museum of Usage and Mores in the city of Palmeira dos Índios in its referred physical space. The recovering of these discussions is an opportunity to think how much some pieces of equipment that make part of the city's physic patrimony do not represent in its essence the different subjectivities that make part of the place, being then illegitimate in its origin. The reason for that is because one can understand that the Museum of Mores must represent the everyday life of different social groups that compose the city. They must come out as a way to give back to the habitants the true story of the place, being then a social compromise, where we can signalize conditions of possibilities of a more democratical habitat.
