A utilização do brinquedo ao longo da historia da humanidade tem servido a diferentes propósitos. Desde seu uso em adoração aos deuses, descontração, significado de ócio e também como fator educativo. Este último fator tem sido aceito no meio pedagógico como ferramenta educativa e facilitadora da aprendizagem. Para a fundamentação deste trabalho de pesquisa recorremos à s contribuições de alguns teóricos que descreve sobre o assunto, dentre eles podemos destacar, Paulo Nunes de Almeida, Antonio Gomes Gil, Platão, Elizabth Salgado, Nelson Spector, José Luiz Straub, Gilles Brougère, Vigotsky, BÃblia Sagrada (Mateus Capitulo 19 versÃculo 13-15). Foi utilizado uma abordagem qualitativa e estudo de caso, através de entrevista semi-estruturada e da observação participante. A análise foi feita em uma creche municipal de educação infantil no ano de 2010 em Sinop-MT, onde é apresentado o dia a dia das crianças a forma com que são utilizados os brinquedos e a função das brincadeiras naquele contexto, como são confeccionados e como os mesmos contribuem para o aprendizado, socialização e crescimento dos alunos ali inseridos.
The use of toy along mankind´s history has served to different purposes. From a worship means, relaxation, idleness and educative factor. This last one has been accept in the pedagogical surrounding as an educative tool which factor learning. For the foundation of this research work we fall back upon the contributions of some theoretician that discourse about the subject. Among of them we can highlight Almeida, Gomes, Gil, Spector, Sócrates, Vigotsky and Holy Bible (Matheus chapter 19 vesicle 13-15). A qualitative approach has been used through the semi-structured interview and participative observation. The analysis has been carried out in a municipal daycare center of children´s education in 2010, in Sinop MT. Where the children´s day-by-day activities are presented, the way toys are used and the function of the games in that context as well they contribute for learning, socialization and development of the children that attended the place.
