Os primeiros resultados do Censo Demográfico 2010 do IBGE apontam para um Paraná mais
urbano, ainda mais concentrado, mais feminino, mais idoso e com menor crescimento da
população. Tais caracterÃsticas assumem particularidades do ponto de vista intraestadual.
Este trabalho analisa o perfil atual da distribuição e composição da população no Estado,
contemplando a heterogeneidade de suas mesorregiões e, internamente a algumas, as
especificidades das Regiões Metropolitanas instituÃdas, assim como as diferenças entre seus
núcleos e municÃpios periféricos. Faz uma reflexão sobre as mudanças ocorridas nas duas
últimas décadas e sugere elementos que podem orientar a formulação de polÃticas adequadas
aos padrões atuais da estrutura demográfica e da distribuição da população no território
paranaense e às tendências que se prenunciam.
The first results of IBGE 2010 Demographic Census point to a more urban, crowded, female
and elderly Paraná, however with a slower population growth. These features assume some
intrastate point of view particularities. This work analysis the current profile of population
composition and distribution, contemplating its mesoregions heterogeneity and, internally,
some instituted Metropolitan Regions specificities, as well as the differences between their
cores and peripheral municipalities. It proposes a reflection about the changes in the last two
decades and it also suggests elements which may guide the adequate policies formulation in
the demographic structure current standard and the population distribution in Paraná territory
and the tendencies that announce themselves.
