Esse artigo foca na análise da cooperação China-Moçambique e no papel de mega-projetos no plano de desenvolvimento territorial de Moçambique durante os anos 2000. Seu objetivo é responder a pergunta: é possível assumir que os investimentos chineses na construção de megaprojetos pode aumentar o crescimento econômico e resultar no desenvolvimento social e produtivo em Moçambique? A respeito disso, o artigo propõe identificar os principais efeitos sociais e econômicos relacionados à implementação de megaprojetos de infraestrutura chinesa no país para entender se é possível apontar a estratégia adotada por Moçambique como uma verdadeira forma de transformação e desenvolvimento sócio-econômico.
This paper focuses on the analysis of the China-Mozambique cooperation and the megaproject’s role in the territorial development plan of Mozambique during the 2000s. Its objective is to answer the question: is it possible to assume that Chinese investments in megaproject’s constructions can increase economic growth and result in productive and social development in Mozambique? In this regard, the paper pro-poses to identify the main economic and social effects related to the implementation of Chinese infrastructure megaprojects in the country to understand if it’s possible to appoint the strategy adopted by Mozambique as a real kind of transformation and socioeconomic development.
